In a recent post shared to Instagram, South African songstress Lira has celebrated the progress she has made after suffering a stroke while travelling in March 2022.

‘I LOVE SHARING MY STORY’
While the stroke didn’t affect the artist physically, she did however lose her ability to speak, read and write.
One year later and Lira seems to be thriving now more than ever.
Over the last year the award-winning artist has shared frequent updates about her health and the progress that she has made. On Friday 24 July Lira shared that she was invited by mobile network operator, MTN for Career and Wellbeing week where the singer gave an inspirational speech on her stroke recovery.
“I was invited to MTN – 2023 Career and Wellbeing Week to give a inspirational talk on my stroke recovery”, she shared.
Lira continued by sharing how despite having a speech impediment she is still “able to communicate” and share her story with bigger crowds.
In addition to this the singer has also reflected on her journey and shared how she loves sharing her story.
“I may have a speech impediment but I’m able to communicate. I love sharing my story. Last year this time I was learning to speak, now I can communicate and address groups of people”, the songstress expressed.

CELEBS REACT TO LIRA’S RECOVERY
In a comment to Lira’s post musician Judith Sephuma shared that she was an inspiration and living testimony.
“You’re an inspiration and such a living testimony. God bless you”, Judith commented.
Mafikizolo songstress Nhlanhla Mafu also shared how she is always inspired by artist’s resilience.
Nonhlanhla commented: “Always inspired”.
