Amakhosi remained fourth in the standings after the loss, but there now seems to be no way for them to finish ahead of Soweto rivals Orlando Pirates, who are five points ahead with a game in hand.
For Amakhosi, the only solace could be if they can return to winning ways when they host Orlando Pirates in a Nedbank Cup semifinal match on Saturday.

It’s been a season of inconsistency and injuries, further hampered by a lack of clinical finishing in front of goal, and Arthur Zwane admitted after the Swallows game that it has been a painful campaign.
“Some of the games we thought we deserved to win and we did not win them, we learn from them and we have to move on. Now we start thinking about the next game and ja, this is one season that we will obviously want to forget, but we still have a lot to play for. You never know what is going to happen.”
After Monday’s apathetic performance, Zwane again attempted to explain away the defeat, but fans will be very familiar with the excuses rolled out, including poor decision-making and a lack of clinical finishing.
