77-year-old woman marries herself to get her dream wedding

A 77-year-old woman from Ohio, United States of America (USA) finally got her dream wedding when she married herself at her retirement community, O’Bannon Terrace in Goshen, on Saturday, 13 May.

According to People, Dorothy “Dottie” Fideli was once married in a brief courthouse ceremony in 1965, wearing a black dress.

WOMAN DIVORCED AFTER NINE YEARS

Her marriage, however, ended nine years later.

Years later she got the idea to marry herself from her neighbors, who saw a woman do something similar on a talk show.

“I have been with myself for 40 years. Now I have a second chance in doing something that’ll make me happy,” said Fideli as quoted by the report.

SHE SPENT MOST YEARS RAISING HER FAMILY

The 77 year-old spend most of her year raising her three kids.

Her daughter, Donna Pennington, helped her find a beautiful white dress. She cooked food for the event and even decorated it.

Independent reported that Fideli was nervous leading up to the wedding however it all ended in joy.

SHE THREW HERSELF A DREAM WEDDING

The marriage to herself was officiated by the retirement home’s property manager.

“Everybody takes this outside lily. And they live their life and they think they’re happy and everything’s going to be hunky-dory, but they don’t consider the inside, the little petals inside.

“The inside is what’s important. That’s where God’s love flows. That’s where he gives you wisdom and he gives you hope,” the report quoted Fideli as saying.
