WATCH Trevor Noah on Breaking Big, His Rise to International Success

South African comedian Trevor Noah jokes that he hopes his mom watches the latest documentary about his meteoric rise “and finally starts believing that I’m not a drug dealer!”

The documentary – the first in a series by OZY and PBS – is called Breaking Big, and takes an in-depth look at 12 talented men and women to uncover the unexpected journeys to success of some of the world’s most influential stars.

Trevor said he’s “honoured to be on the premiere episode” of the series, which airs every Friday on Facebook Watch.

PBS says: “Everyone knows Trevor Noah of The Daily Show — but nobody knows his true story. Here’s how a biracial South African kid with a tumultuous upbringing grew to fill Jon Stewart’s shoes.

“Born and raised in South Africa, Trevor Noah drew on his mother’s influence to channel the painful stories from his life into a unique voice on the international comedy circuit.
