Young Syrian refugees have sent a special message of solidarity to South Africa after the traumatic violent protests and looting tore through parts of KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng this week.
It’s a message that has touched so many South Africans… watching these young children, who themselves have suffered and live in uncertain times, reaching out with such a beautiful and loving message.
The children say: “Like you stood with us, we will stand today with you. Today, from the Syrian refugee camps in Lebanon, we are showing solidarity with our brothers and sisters in South Africa, and Insha’Allah things will get back to normal. We ask Allah to protect them in this current situation. Oh Almighty, protect our brothers and sisters in South Africa. Oh Almighty, help our brothers and sisters in South Africa.”
Humanitarian organisation, Africa Muslims Agency (AMA) SA, said they are sharing hope amidst the confusion. These children are sponsored by AMA.
AMA said the children are standing “with South Africa in our dark days as South Africans have stood with them. Alhamdulillah, may we overcome difficulties through our unity.”
