WATCH Springbok’s Siya Kolisi Takes On Roger Federer in Cape Town

South African Springbok Captain Siya Kolisi took on Swiss tennis star Roger Federer – briefly – at the Belmond Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa, today.

Yesterday Federer revealed the huge emotion he felt when South Africa won the Rugby World Cup. Rugby fans were blown away last year when Roger sent a video to the Springboks wishing them the best of luck in the rugby championships.

On Thursday he told a media briefing: “The Springboks’ World Cup win was a big deal. I ended up watching the game while having a haircut. And watched the trophy ceremony on a sidewalk in Switzerland. I got quite emotional.” (Federer also spoke about his South African holidays during his childhood, and how Afrikaans is on his To Do List.)

There was also – very briefly – great news for tennis fans today wanting to watch Federer vs Rafa Nadal at the Match in Africa tomorrow evening.

For a short amount of time some single tickets went back into circulation and were available to buy on Computicket today, at a price of R1,500 per person. Unfortunately they’re already sold out.
