South African YouTube sensation Caspar Lee has published a video of what was going on in his mind when he met the Queen at Buckingham Palace last week, and how it’s inspired him for life…

Caspar (23) attended the Queen’s Young Leaders awards in London on 30 June. In the video Caspar discusses that South African teacher who told him to stop making videos (!), his blushing, not wearing a tie, meeting Prince Harry… but most importantly meeting the Queen.

“She smiled the most radiant smile and I was like: aaah, this is IT! This is the pinnacle of anything I could ever do. I got here from working with a really cool organisation that really helps others [in South Africa] and they rewarded me with the most amazing moment in my life… and from here on out I am so inspired.”

Caspar says he felt like he had fainted inside, and that this moment has changed him forever.

“I don’t know how to explain it… but I feel like meeting her makes me more inspired to do stuff for the rest of my life so that I’ve done enough to have the opportunity to have already met her… if that makes sense… because I don’t feel like I deserve it yet…”
