South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has concluded his working visit to New York, and says he is “fully satisfied”. The president was in the United States to participate at the 73rd Session of the United Nations General Assembly.
He said that after the meetings that South Africa had with delegates, they now “fully understand the rationale” and processes that SA is involved in.
“So I leave America fully satisfied that we have explained the processes that we are going through, we have explained the rationale behind the land question and we’ve also explained that the solution that we will come up with is going to be a solution that is aimed at promoting social cohesion… it’s going to carry on helping to build the nation and we will do it in exactly the same way that we did when we brought the end to the nightmare of apartheid – in an inclusive way…”
