This weekend South African professional golfer Louis Oosthuizen pulled off his fifth runner-up achievement in a Major, when he came second to US player Phil Mickelson at the PGA Championship at Kiawah Island in South Carolina… and it wasn’t long before fans were sharing an old video he made laughing about his knack of coming second.
Louis first posted the video back in August 2017 when he had “just finished my career grand slam seconds”. In it, Louis can be seen singing Andra Day’s ‘Rise Up’… which includes lyrics like “I’ll rise up… In spite of the ache… I’ll rise up… And I’ll do it a thousand times again…”
Ever the gentleman, the legendary South African sportsman (who’s South Africa’s number one golf player) tweeted after the tournament: “Proud to add another runner-up finish to my list of Major achievements. ? Putts were close today @PGAChampionship, so game is there. We have plenty to be proud of. Thank you @pga and the volunteers for a great event, and congrats to @philmickelson on his historic win.” (Mickelson is the oldest golfer ever to win the event at 50-years-old.)
