Francois van Coke bared his rebel heart for a goosebump performance together with South Africa’s famous Drakensberg Boys Choir on The Voice South Africa. For the boys, it was extra special to meet the man whose songs they sometimes sing!
The Voice SA described the incredible performance as “the juxtaposition of (Francois’) gritty and emotional vocals with the angelic harmonies of the Drakies boys”, and said the results “still has us in shambles. A true gem of a performance.”
One Proud South African and Proud Drakies supporter – who happens to also be the boys’ English teacher – Pamela Couzyn, told SAPeople: “These boys rock my world. Francois Van Coke and the Drakensberg Boys Choir wowed us all on The Voice.❤️”

It was a very special performance for the award-winning choir. “We also currently have another Francois van Coke song, Lig op die Horison in their repertoire,” reveals Pamela, “so this was really special for them, to meet and perform with the guy whose song they have been singing.”
Francois, who is one of the Voice coaches, became a household name in South Africa as the front man to rock band Fokofpolisiekar. His real name is Francois Bandenhorst.
