Trevor Noah had the privilege this week of telling Hollywood actor Laurence Fishburne about the very first time he saw him in real life – in Soweto, South Africa… and “nearly drove his car off a cliff”.
To be exact, it was an embankment. But it was steep enough to cause the crowd that had gathered around Fishburne – who was in SA as UNICEF ambassador – to scream… and have to help push the car back up again.
At the time Noah was a massive fan of The Matrix, particularly Fishburne’s character Morpheus… and so became very distracted when he saw his hero in real life.
Trevor tweeted: “I waited 10 years to tell Laurence Fishburne this story. I can’t lie, I’ve lived an amazing blessed life.”
The revelation occurred during a break in filming The Daily Show scenes.
