A simple bath in South Africa – with a stupendous view – is becoming a bit of an international star. Appearing today in The Daily Mail, one of the world’s most popular online media outlets, Grootbos Private Nature Reserve is featured as one of the amazing hotels on the planet where “the bath is the star”.
“Why look at one ocean from your hotel bath when you can look at two?” says the Daily Mail. “Do the double at the Grootbos Private Nature Reserve in South Africa, where tubs have views of the point where the warm Indian Ocean meets the much colder Atlantic.”
Readers are invited to splash out at the exquisite reserve and lie back in the bath to soak up the view of mountains, forest and sea… with “floor-to-ceiling windows (bringing) the outside in”.
The award-winning private eco-reserve on Walker Bay, near Cape Town, encompasses a 2,500 hectare “fynbos kingdom and ancient forest of Grootbos, featuring 800 plant species, 118 bird species, 29 mammals and 21 amphibians”, according to Grootbos’ website.
The Daily Mail highlights the resort’s 4×4 botanical safari which includes discovering “how a sunbird’s beak fits perfectly into a flower, why local honey is unique and why forest fires can bring forth new life”.
Situated on the Cape Whale Coast, a trip to Grootbos Nature Reserve during the latter half of the year has the added bonus of usually coinciding with a visit from one of the large pods of Southern Right Whales that come by to visit.
