Meet Table Mountain, KwaZulu-Natal…
The entire planet knows about Cape Town’s iconic version…but not many people in and out of South Africa have ever seen or heard of Pietermaritzburgs’ own Table Mountain.
These photos, captured by Peter de Groot from PdGPix, reveal the incredible views from Pietermaritzburg’s Table Mountain over KwaZulu-Natal…
“Awesome views of the Msunduzi and Umgeni Rivers,” says Peter.
Peter was on a hike with the Durban Amblers Hiking Club who took walkers to view the “glacial scars, the crevasse, underground streams, the Natal Protea and the open grasslands with magnificent views over to Nagle Dam.”
The hike cost of R20 each was then spent on social upliftment to the community in the area (which is led by Inkosi Mdluli).
This Table Mountain is 959 metres and flat-topped with stunning panoramic views across the Valley of 1000 Hills and midlands of KZN…
On a clear day the views of the Drakensberg are incredible. And even though Table Mountain in KZN is probably not on many international tourists’ Bucket List, it does have its own appreciative visitors…
