There’s a new challenge on, like the ALS dump ice water over your head, and this one is for rhinos. Dance/boogie/kwaito/shake-it-up to publicise the plight of our endangered friend.
The #My40sForRhinos campaign, started on World Rhino Day, is being spearheaded by Rhino Disharmony to create awareness about the increasing and devastating levels of rhino poaching. The 40 seconds, as people remind us in their videos, is all it takes to cut off a rhino horn. Let’s remember that!
Video your dance – “and it doesn’t matter how good or bad you are at dancing”, #My40sforRhinos says – and then share it as widely as possible.
Keep the video to around 40 seconds long, use the hashtag #My40sforRhinos (so everyone can follow and share your dance) and tag at least one person calling them to action in the video. Now get dancing!
Thanks, Shaina Herms, for this innovative dance video
It’s #WorldRhinoDay and the coolest looking prehistoric animals are in danger. I really want my kids to see the awesome rhino so I’m just spreading some awareness with this campaign #My40sforRhinos, sharing the plight of the rhino & doing a very skilled dance at the same time. I’m not a crazy animal activist as you know, but it seems unfair to me that other people won’t have the opportunity to make the choice to love these animals.Make your own video on your phone and participate in your way – it’s just 40 seconds. #my40sforRhinos The 40 Seconds rhino dance (#My40sforRhinos) campaign aims to creating awareness about the increasing and devastating levels of rhino poaching. Once someone has videoed their dance – and it doesn’t matter how good or bad you are at dancing – the content must then be shared in order to spread the word and stimulate as much international awareness as possible. The only rules are that you must mention why you’re doing the dance, keep the video to a maximum of 40 seconds’ duration, use the hashtag #My40sforRhinos (so we can follow and share your dance) and tag at least one person calling them to action.
