While student #FeesMustFall protests have swept university campuses around South Africa, polarising those who support the movement and those who don’t; one student’s efforts to bridge the gap and conquer all with love has gone viral.

Since posting on social media, Rynaard de Goede’s video “Love overcomes” has been viewed over 30,000 times on YouTube and over 320,000 times on Facebook!

Rynaard, from North West University in Potchefstroom, says: “Love does not cause division. Love does not label. Love does not decimate. Love knows no boundaries. Love overcomes all.”

And proving love is blind – Rynaard is blindfolded throughout!

Rynaard’s efforts are in a similar vein to those of ‘Juan Mann’, an Australian who gave out Free Hugs in Sydney in 2004 which became famous a couple of years later when Aussie band Sick Puppies featured it in their music video. That video (watch below) has been viewed over 77 million times!
