With 10 changes in the team, South Africa beat a lacklustre France 18-17 at Stade de France on Saturday evening.

It marks the Springbok’s first win after 5 matches (two draws with Australia, two losses to New Zealand, and the loss to Ireland).

The score could’ve been higher had Handré Pollard not missed four attempts at goal. Many South African rugby fans took to social media during the game to complain about Pollard’s performance.

He did however achieve one conversion and two penalties.

Tries were scored by Dillyn Leyds and Jesse Kriel in a match that was more lost by France than won by South Africa.

But still, a win feels good for fans… especially against France who were announced as the 2023 Rugby World Cup hosts this week instead of SA!

Captain Eben Etzebeth may be unable to play in Italy next weekend after an injury forced him off the field in the second half.
