Kaizer Chiefs talisman Khama Billiat‘s future has been in the headlines since towards the end of last season but it looks like it has been sorted.

Billiat’s current deal with Amakhosi expires on 30 June, but it appears the club has offered him a contract extension.

At this stage, it is unclear how long Billiat could be at Chiefs for, but the club dropped the biggest HINT that he will be staying.

Billiat was spotted at Naturena alongside the rest of his teammates in a new Kappa tracksuit as the team went for fitness tests.

It is common knowledge that clubs only conduct fitness tests to players who are part of the team’s setup for the new campaign.

And with Billiat, it is clear that he will stay at Chiefs beyond the expiry of his contract although the length of his stay is to be announced by the management.

KHAMA BILLIAT’S NUMBERS AT KAIZER CHIEFS NOT SO IMPRESSIVE

While Billiat is a high-profile player by his standards, it is fair to admit that his numbers at Chiefs haven’t been so impressive.

However, that is due to a number of factors, including injuries and a loss of form over the past few seasons.

The former Warriors international arrived at Naturena in 2018, and he has scored 24 goals and registered 29 assists in 126 matches.

And that’s almost similar to his tally at Ajax Cape Town where he played fewer games (92) – 23 goals and 24 assists.

At Mamelodi Sundowns, Billiat scored 48 goals and registered 43 assists in 144 competitive appearance
