In one of the funniest SA’s Got Talent moments this season, a Soweto-born and Sandton-raised comedian (therefore, as he says, “technically a coconut”) secured three ‘yes’ votes with the following stand-up routine.
Thirty-year-old Mum-Z, who works in advertising and does comedy on the side, didn’t hold back in highlighting the advantages of being a ‘coconut’ (a local term used to describe someone who is black on the outside and white on the inside) and the foolproof test on whether you are one or not – Woolies anyone?
Mum-Z also had the audience rolling in the aisles with his descriptions of some people’s misconceptions about black people’s looks and language.
And it was no surprise when even DJ Fresh said: “From one coconut to another, it’s a yes from me!”
