Prince Harry and Actress Meghan Markle Wedding Date Announced

Kensington Palace has announced that Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle will marry on 19 May 2018.

The Palace said in a tweet at lunchtime on Friday: “His Royal Highness Prince Henry of Wales and Ms. Meghan Markle will marry on 19th May 2018.” (Please Note: Henry is the Prince’s birth name, used by the Palace in official announcements; and Harry is his nickname by which he is more popularly known.)

“Today’s announcement follows earlier confirmation of the month of the wedding and its location at St George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle.”

The couple, who cemented their love on their ‘second date’ during a month-long holiday to Botswana, confirmed their engagement in London last month.

According to Kensington palace, the wedding – including the church service, music, flowers and reception – will be paid for by the royal family.

Markle will spend Christmas with her fiancé’s family for the first time, where she is expected to join the Queen and royal family for their public outing to Morning Service at Sandringham Church, before they retreat to Sandringham Estate to spend the rest of the day in private.
