South Africa, my beloved
By Natasha Moller
South Africa, my beloved
I dream of you at night
I dream of your beauty surrounding me amidst the greatness of the Drakensberg
Your gentle smile caressing my cheek on top of Table Mountain
Your stillness that surprises me around the corner at first light of the Karoo
Your rich and vibrant soul that leads me across the streets of Jozi
South Africa my beloved
I dream of you at night
I dream of your light and compassion and warmth,is it still there? Hidden behind the greed and the evil
Your spirit of Ubuntu that captured our hearts, now almost forgotten
Your leaders that once stood tall, and taught the world what it means to love and not to hate
Your people that against all odds joined hands and forgave
South Africa my beloved
I dream of you at night
I dream of our children playing together safely under your African sun
I dream of a rainbow nation rising up stronger than before
I dream of justice and fairness and good that prevails
I dream of a better tomorrow and a future for all
South Africa my beloved
I dream of you at night
