ANDRE ROUX captured these stunning photos while hiking with the Wednesday Adventure Group (all welcome!) in South Africa’s beautiful Outeniqua Mountains. The range – named after the Outeniqua Khoikhoi who lived there – is near George in the Western Cape.
“For me, it’s the most beautiful place in the Garden Route,” says Andre; and his exquisite photos of the King Protea show just why it’s South Africa’s national flower.
For anyone wishing to visit the beautiful region, Andre – who’s a tour operator with Rest a While South African Tours – says the best time of year to photograph Proteas in the Outeniqua Mountains is April and May.
