Something a little magical happened in Cape Town this weekend. A mist came rolling in…and the cameras came out. Here’s a collection of photos, as well as a video, that captured the beautiful scene…
It started on Friday evening. Elza Bester DeJager said: “Something different tonight – Table Mountain floating on the mist coming in from the sea.” (See more at Elza’s Photography.)
Later that night Helena Sousa drove up Signal Hill to capture it from above. “The mist rolled in over our city,” she said. (See more at Thru H’s I.)
On Saturday morning, Alex Ferguson was met with this stunning scene in #KalkBay, #CapeTown.
The mist rolled in again this morning. Nigel Cameron-Davies sent in this photo that his wife’s cousin Christa Lubbe took – “Mist rolling in towards Gordon’s Bay this morning.”
Tonight the mist was replaced by clouds…but the sunset was still sensational. As Elza says “with an approaching cold front the cloud formations made for an amazing sunset.”
And that sunset was so breathtaking that “one photo is not enough”!
For Stefan Kruger, the weekend’s mist was so magical that he took the following video so that others can experience it too.
“Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add colour to my sunset sky…” he said.
