A Western Cape woman’s post has gone viral, being liked over 22,000 times by South Africans who have been warmed and inspired by the spur-of-the-moment kindness of a petrol attendant called Life!
Yolanda Flusk Jacobs took to social media a few days ago to relate the story of how she stopped off at a petrol station in Zevenwacht on her way home from celebrating her 50th birthday.
The petrol attendant – named Life – noticed her mother, in the passenger seat, was holding a birthday cake on her lap, and asked about it.
When Yolanda told him it was her 50th birthday cake, he couldn’t believe she was 50… but after finally convincing him, Life asked her to “wait, don’t go yet”.
He then “ran off and came back with a R50 note, a birthday gift for me ?,” wrote Yolanda.
She was blown away by the selfless deed. “Someone, not thinking twice to share his little with someone else. Life is an angel. I pray that God will always bless him abundantly and that he will be blessed with a long, happy and prosperous life. ??” wrote Yolanda. She added: “Sincerity without a doubt ?♀️”
