Wits Education Honours graduate Ntandoyenkosi Kunene was crowned Miss South Africa at the beauty pageant held at Carnival City on Saturday night.
The 23-year-old hails from Mpumalanga (and was crowned Miss Mpumalanga in 2013). Ntando has said in interviews that being a beauty queen is about more than looks – it’s about inspiring young women and children. She has a B. Ed Degree and Honours in Curriculum Studies.
Ntando is passionate about education and helping the youth – she has been visiting a shelter in Berea called Intombi, with friends, since 2014 to be a mentor, sister and friend to girls who are there.
Her runner-ups are Elizabeth Molapo and Tayla Skye Robinson.
Earlier today Ntando posted this message on Facebook: “Everything under the sky has a time, seasons and is the will of God. Going in today, whatever happens I am content knowing that God’s will will prevail ??
