With just two days to go until the Miss Universe pageant in the Philippines, Miss South Africa Ntandoyenkosi (Ntando) Kunene is already one of the favourites of the 86 contestants.
Ntando (24) is a Bachelor of Education Honours graduate and is the official ambassador for Take a Child to Work Day.
Ntando’s mission, if she wins, is to ensure young women realise that education is vital to empower you to be the best you can be.
On the subject of beauty Ntando told Miss Universe a woman who is “confidently beautiful” is one who is “comfortable within her own skin”.
She said her top tip for healthy eating in 2017 is to eat “biltong and avocado salad” and that her favourite “national dish” from her native country, South Africa, is “braai’d mielies, pap and biltong“.
To ensure Ntando makes it into the Final 12, Miss South Africa organisers ask all South Africans to vote for her (see details below).
Miss Universe will be live streaming the pageant finals on Sunday evening from their Facebook page.
