Sjoe, goosebumps. Remember the beautiful heartfelt-letter that made world headlines when Joost van der Westhuizen’s grieving son, Jordan, wrote a letter to his dad in heaven… including a request for Joost to ask God  to make Liverpool Football Club win?

It turns out, that letter captured not only the hearts of rugby fans around the world, but the heart of Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp… who last week sent Jordan a Liverpool jersey, signed by the players, and a personalised letter!

The letter was written on 15 February, although appears to have only arrived in South Africa this month.

In an instagram post on 13 June, Jordan’s mom Amor Vittone said: “A personalised letter to Jordan from Jurgen Klopp! Wow… how amazing. Jordan is speechless!!! #liverpoolfc.”

She also posted a photo of Jordan with his new jersey, saying: “This Liverpool jersey, signed by all the players, [was] sent to Jordan!!!! #liverpoolfc Thank you Jurgen Klopp!!!”

In Jordan’s tribute letter to his famous rugby playing father who passed away after a six-year battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), the 13-year-old had written: “Dear Daddy. Thank you for everything, but most of all ‘be the best that you can be’. You are the best rugby player in the world! I want to be the best sportsman like you‚ because you said I must work hard! I will always love you to the moon and back.

“Daddy, please tell God that Liverpool must win. You will never walk alone. I love you so much.”

Jurgen Klopp’s responded with his own heartfelt letter to the young football fan: “Dear Jordan, I am so sorry to be writing to you under these very sad circumstances and to hear that your Daddy, Joost has sadly passed away…

“We know that your Daddy was a huge fan of Liverpool FC and we’re so pleased that he shared his passion with you.

“The letter you wrote to him about LFC meant a lot to us, thank you so much for your support, we hope you will have happy memories of the time you spent with him watching LFC play.”

He ended with the words from Liverpool’s famous anthem… “You’ll never walk alone”.
