The Virgin Kitesurfing Armada took place on Saturday near Bloubergstrand in Cape Town, bringing together hundreds of kitesurfers in an attempt to break the record for the ‘Largest Parade of Kitesurfers’. After 3 hours of kitesurfing the World Record was smashed – with a total of 415 kitesurfers completing the one mile course between Dolphin Beach and Doodles.

In fantastic conditions, the kiting community came together to support the event, and the atmosphere on the beach was fantastic. The event benefits three charities, including Cape Town’s the innovative local Community Development Programme the Save Foundation. The record was previously held by Spain.
