It is even more beautiful to think that this could be the start of a new revolution in South Africa, where people have begun the process to understand the complexities within South Africa’s multi-dimensional socio-economic sphere, and move toward a better future for all.

Most importantly, I think South Africans should take more time moving forward to listen & understand each other.

Every day we cross paths with individuals who come from a completely different reality, for better or worse… yet we seldom engage and try to understand each others behaviours.

If you live in impoverished conditions and have an encounter with someone from an upper or middle class, talk to them – share your experiences on how you live, what you eat, how you struggle… Share your thoughts on the reasoning for the countries dire situations and how you perceive those that live better than you.

And if you come from a more privileged background – talk to those less fortunate than you.. Explain your living circumstances and what you have experienced growing up… How you were able to excel and fail and how this has affected your life and those around you… Share your beliefs and why you think we experience the hardships faced in South Africa today.

Once we begin talking to each other, we open up endless possibilities of finding solutions to the many issues we face as a society today.

Once we begin talking to each other, we realize we are not so different after all.
