Julius Malema is clearly enjoying a good holiday after a long year of politics. Usually he prefers to keep his private life private, but today he shared photos – and perhaps the secret to his happy marriage – on Twitter.

He and his long-time girlfriend Mantwa Matlala married two years ago in Polokwane in December 2014.

Today the EFF leader uploaded photos showing him carrying her on his shoulders, and wrote “we play together”… along with some romantic emoticons.

This could also answer one of the most popular searches on SAPeople: “Julius Malema’s secret to weight loss”! (Malema’s new trim look was first spotted in March this year at his Unisa graduation ceremony – see photo below.)

Fans thanked Malema for showing them “the side of Julius we rarely see” and said he was an inspiration. Some complained their less slim wives would now also want to be lifted.
