Rugby World Cup (RWC) has joined fans around the world in wishing Joost van der Westhuizen a happy birthday today. Joost, who has inspired South Africa and the world with his battles both on and off the rugby field, turns 45 today.
Joost was diagnosed with destructive degenerative disease Motor Neuron Disease (MND) in 2010, and set up the J9 Foundation to help fellow sufferers.
As one of the videos below says: “Life is not measured by the amount of years lived, it’s measured by the amount of memories created…” And Joost sure knows how to create them…
