For anyone overseas feeling homesick for South Africa, or even for someone in Cape Town feeling lus for some views of the Kruger Park or the Blyde River Canyon, Google Maps is partly answering the call.
Short of taking a trip on a second’s notice, you can click on Google’s newly launched South Africa, the Mzansi Experience, part of the Google Maps Street View (or should that be Backroad View or Bush View?!) that takes you on a virtual trip of South Africa. From deep inside the Kruger Park to the top of a pass in Jonkershoek Nature Reserve down to the beaches of Cape Town.
Google Street Views already offers views into some other iconic places and events around the world, including the Iditarod in Alaska, the Grand Canyon and even NASA’s Kennedy Space Station. So what are you waiting for – take a free ride!
