Dr Maye: Elon Musk’s mom craved boerewors and pap while in SA

Model and dietician Maye Musk, revealed that she was craving boerewors and pap while in South Africa to accept her honorary PhD in dietetics from the University of the Free State (UFS).

MAYE CRAVED BOEREWORS AND PAP WHEN IN SA

Elon Musk’s mom Maye Musk returned to South Africa for the University of the Free State’s graduation ceremony — where she was honoured with a PHD in dietetics.

“I am now, Dr. Maye Musk PhD ?‍? Thank you @ufsuv for honoring me with the Doctor of Dietetics. After dedicating my adult life to nutrition research and the promotion of dietitians, this is the best recognition ever! This ceremony brought me to tears. It was not my plan, but it is the peak of my achievements. #AWomanmakesAPlan? Next week #ItsGreatToBe75 ?,” she wrote.

While in South Africa, the mom of three revealed she was craving boerewors and pap to News 24. However, she noted that no restaurant had that on the menu. So, she had a home meal with bobotie and malva pudding.

ELON’S MOM, MAYE FLUENT IN AFRIKAANS

Maye also revealed that she is still fluent in Afrikaans so many years later. The mom of three was married to South African engineer Errol Musk for nine years. The 75-year-old was born in Regina, Canada and lived in South Africa since she was three years old. According to Biography, she moved back to Canada in her 40s.

It seems Maye is can still speak Afrikaans. Former Miss South Africa (2014) Rolene Strauss shared a video of Maye speaking Afrikaans.

“Ek kan Afrikaans praat” she said.

“Dit is wonderlike,” she responded when Strauss asked how amazing it was.

This comes after South African-born actress Charlize Theron set tongues wagging in Mzansi after she claimed only about 44 people still speak the language in the country.
