Congratulations to Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters who has been crowned Miss South Africa 2017 at Sun City Sunday evening.
“She’s 21, she’s graceful and she is your new Miss South Africa,” said the official Miss South Africa facebook page.
Demi-Leigh hails from Sedgefield in the Western Cape. According to her facebook page, she is a B.Com Business Management and Entrepreneurship student who is represented by Boss Models in Joburg and Vision Management in Cape Town.
Late on Saturday night she wrote: “As I sit here getting ready for bed after our final dress rehearsals before tomorrow’s BIG finale, I’m overcome with emotion looking back on this life-changing experience.
“Never in a million years could I have thought that this journey would be so rewarding, adventurous and challenging.
“I understand now why this platform has been at the forefront of women empowerment in South Africa providing young woman with an opportunity to give back to their own communities and country.
“I’m ready and able to give 100% of myself on that stage and whatever the future my hold…”
