Renowned British photographer David Yarrow’s solo exhibition ‘Storytelling’ has come to Scapegoat Gallery at Hyde Park Corner in Johannesburg. The show, which demonstrates the transformative power of photography, is set to captivate art enthusiasts until Sunday 19 November 2023.
Yarrow has a long history with South Africa, having taken incredible wildlife photos in the country over the years. He has worked closely with ‘lion whisperer’ Kevin Richardson, whom he calls “a dear friend” and says “it is a privilege to work with him”.
Yarrow is also a close friend of SA golf legend Gary Player, who took part in the photo below. Gary said on X that he was “immediately thrilled about the concept and humbled and honored to have been asked to take part”. Looking at the photo after the shoot, Player said: “Brilliant work my friend, an iconic shot for an iconic course! (St Andrews in Scotland).
‘Storytelling’ is being touted as a “visual odyssey like no other”.
Scapegoat Gallery says: “The exhibition includes work from assignments with some of the biggest names and brands in fashion, sports, and culture, featuring iconic personalities like Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Russell Wilson, Ciara, Alessandra Ambrosio, and legendary South African golfer, Gary Player. This stunning new collection offers insights into a man who can never be categorised and who will never accept second best in his relentless pursuit of excellence.”
