South African actress, Hollywood star and Oscar winner Charlize Theron remembered the folks back home when accepting her Best Female Performance award at the MTV Movie Awards last night.
The 40-year-old was presented with the award for her brilliant portrayal of Imperator Furiosa in ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’. After thanking director George Miller, the film’s incredible case and crew, Charlize raise her fist proudly and said “shout out to the South Africans”.
In a touching speech, she also thanked her son Jackson, who was with her during filming, “for putting a smile on my face every day” and said she was accepting the award “on behalf of my own little Furiosa — my daughter, August Simone”.
