Charlene Wittstock will be wearing a Giorgio Armani-designed dress for her fairytale wedding to Prince Albert II of Monaco, in July. The fashion icon has previously designed outfits for Charlene and was selected for his elegant style.
Traditionally, royal weddings in Monaco are held behind the closed doors of the principality’s Cathedral. But Prince Albert II knows how much the people want to share in this joyous occasion, so the 52-year-old head of Monaco has declared the 2nd and 3rd of July as public holidays.
So now, the private ceremony will be held on Friday 1st July in the Throne Room of the Monao Palace, and the following day the whole world will be able to celebrate as Charlene walks down a long red carpet that will be rolled out across the Palace square and into the courtyard. She will be on the arm of her father Mickael Wittstock.
The palace gates will be left wide open, and large screens will be erected with loudspeakers so all those in Monaco can witness the service. And for those outside of Monaco, 1 500 media members will be present, and the mass will be filmed in 3D.
