THULI PHONGOLO WITHDRAWS CASE AGAINST MAPHORISA
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) spokesperson in Gauteng, Phindi Mjonondwane said it is alleged that Maphorisa assaulted Phongolo on Sunday, 7 May by hitting her with open hands and also strangled her after the actress confronted him about an incident that happened the previous night where the Amapiano hitmaker was booked to perform.
Phongolo then laid a charge with the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Sandton which acted promptly and arrested Maphorisa.
“Phongolo filed a withdrawal statement and was before court to which she agreed for the accused to be released on bail. The court set bail at an amount of R4000,” Mjonondwane said.
