NTOBEKO SISHI: ‘I DON’T WANNA BE A BONA FIDE SOAPIE ACTOR’
The star Ntobeko Sishi, who’s known for his character as Ntokozo from Gomora tells Drum that he’s young and doesn’t want to be a bona fide soapie actor in the country.
“I’m not saying that there’s anything wrong with that. I respect the people who do that because soapies and telenovelas are a lot of work, they are very demanding, they are very draining.”
Sishi adds that he doesn’t want to be boxed into that because, for the rest of his career, he’s now known as uNtokozo.
“There’s so much more I have to offer, bigger and better stories I want to tell. Not just as an actor but especially as a musician.”
The star adds that his decision to leave Gomora was something that was fueled by wanting more from himself and knowing that the only way he can get more from himself was if he takes the uncomfortable step of leaving the stability.
