The United Nation’s International Day of Happiness has had an extra happy vibe to it this year with Pharrell Williams’ latest hit song “HAPPY” playing all the way from Tokyo to Toronto, Cairo to Cape Town.
It seems every country around the world has uploaded their own version – Bosnia, Tunisia, Australia, Madagascar, Japan…in fact one worldwide compilation includes people from 23 cities, 17 countries and all continents except for Antartica. South Africa’s contribution in that video comes from Cape Town’s fabulous Societi Bistro.
Since the Bistro added their Happy video to YouTube at the end of January, it’s had over 9,000 views. (Watch it below.)
Pharrell and the UN Foundation have today uploaded their own international compilation – the #HAPPYDAY Supercut, encouraging people to “take action to create a happier world for people everywhere”.
