Police officers at Cape Gate Mall in South Africa are being praised online for their speedy and caring handling of a little child who was lost at the shopping mall.
Alda Heunis Smith posted photos with a message on her facebook timeline, and business page, Cape Town Birth Photographer, about the sweet “moment of beauty in the chaos” that she witnessed on Friday.
“Whilst the world was shopping up a storm these South African police officers helped a little boy find his parents,” she wrote.
“They found him wandering and crying in the parking lot – I shudder to think what could have happened had they not. As I walked passed, the officer carrying him [in the photo] picked him up and told him how brave he is.”
The scenario ended well with the police officers locating the little boy’s parents.
Alda wrote: “There is so much love and good in our country. Let us not have the corruption of a few in positions of power make us forget that. Let us not overlook the small acts of kindness right in front of our own eyes. Please share this message of hope x.”
Alda added a P.S. – “To the officers in this photo: I don’t know your names, but for a moment you were someone small’s hero (and mine too!).”
