Cape Town’s Great Police Escort

A few days ago, in Cape Town’s busy CBD, a couple of traffic officers proved just how awesome they can be, by stopping the traffic for a little wildlife! Proving South Africa’s not just the ‘Wild West’!

Reactions to these images have been more than just “ag shame”…but more along the lines of “Cape Town is possibly not such a bad place if the cops are that nice there” (in the words of one Facebook user).

Other South Africans who’ve seen the pictures on Facebook and in emails doing the rounds, have also taken to the social media to beg for these pictures to go viral – to show that South Africa has a softer, more caring side than it may often project.

One Facebook fan summed it up with: “Gotta go viral…people think we only have fed up miners, a deranged swollen testes president, rapists, murderers and not one decent soccer player here in SA…but we do have ethics and morality and love and real people…and…”
