British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is reportedly in “good spirits” after being transferred to the ICU unit at St Thomas’ Hospital in London last night.
According to the BBC, a spokesperson for the 55-year-old PM confirmed that Johnson is being given oxygen but is not on a ventilator. His condition overnight was described as “stable”.
Johnson had been admitted to the hospital because of persistent Coronavirus symptoms – coughing and a fever. He was transferred to Intensive Care after his symptoms “worsened” at 19h00 on Monday evening.
Johnson’s partner – who is pregnant – had also exhibited symptoms of Coronavirus but has not been tested, and says she fortunately feels better.
On Monday afternoon the British PM tweeted: “I’d like to say thank you to all the brilliant NHS staff taking care of me and others in this difficult time. You are the best of Britain. Stay safe everyone, and please remember to stay at home to protect the NHS and save lives.”
The UK Prime Minister account has also tweeted on Tuesday afternoon: “Stay in touch with others. Look after yourself.” and “Anyone can get it. Anyone can spread it. Stay at home.”
