The Springbok Sevens team on Saturday opened their Cape Town Sevens title defence with a solid 41-0 win over Russia in pool A.
The Blitzboks continued the good form they showed last weekend in Dubai and scored sevens tries against the Russians, who had very little possession in the match as they gave away possession 10 times.
Seabelo Senatla scored a brace, as did Werner Kok, with Justin Geduld, Dylan Sage and Philip Snyman adding the other five-pointers. Geduld, Branco du Preez and Rosko Specman kicked conversions.
The Springbok Sevens team play USA next in pool A in what could be an early pool decider, as the Americans won against Australia, the other strong contender in the group.
UPDATE: The Blitzboks backed up their 41-0 rout of Russia with a convincing 28-10 victory over the USA in Pool A!
