Kirstenbosch is a wonderland of bees, birds, butterflies and blooms… renowned for being “the most beautiful garden in Africa” and one of the greatest botanic gardens of the world.
The gardens are set in a majestic location, against the eastern slopes of Cape Town’s Table Mountain.
According to the SANBI website, “Kirstenbosch was established in 1913 to promote, conserve and display the extraordinarily rich and diverse flora of southern Africa, and was the first botanic garden in the world to be devoted to a country’s indigenous flora.”
If you missed last week’s King Proteas – here’s one below, or check out: photos of Protea flowers at Kirstenbosch National Gardens.
