Planet Earth was a landmark TV series a decade ago, when it redefined natural history film-making. Now, the BBC takes viewers even closer than before with Planet Earth II… and naturally Africa’s wildlife features a lot.
The stunning series – narrated by Sir David Attenborough – uses high-tech cameras, the latest in camera stabilisation, remote recording and aerial drones to capture the world’s wildlife up close and in action.
“This is life in all its wonder,” says BBC Earth.
The groundbreaking documentary has been entirely shot in 4K resolution. The first episode – exploring the Galapagos islands – goes to air in November.
Legendary composer Hans Zimmer has created an original score for the series.
