Air France has confirmed that all flights between Paris and Johannesburg will be maintained and will operate with the schedule seen below.
The airline says it has noted the new regulations issued by the French government on 29 January 2021, and can confirm that all flights will continue to operate to South Africa as scheduled.
In order to comply with these new entry regulations, passengers with final destination France are advised to check the conditions for entry.
In addition to the above, Air France confirms that there has been no change to the:
- requirement of a negative PCR test taken 72 hours prior to departure, or the
- 7-day isolation period on arrival in France followed by a second PCR test.
These new regulations do not apply to passengers in transit at Charles de Gaulle, and Air France reminds passengers that the entry requirements of the country of final destination must still be adhered to. Travel requirements for all countries can be checked at: airfrance.traveldoc.aero
The schedule will remain as evening departures from Paris and Johannesburg, and the early arrival from Johannesburg into Paris ensures that passengers can connect to the first wave of connections at Charles de Gaulle with ease to the entire Air France network.
The route is being operated with a Boeing 777-300 aircraft equipped with refurbished cabins. On this aircraft, La Premiere (First Class) has four suites, the Business Class cabin has 58 seats which easily convert into a lie-flat bed and each with direct access to the aisle, Premium Economy has 28 seats and the Economy cabin can accommodate 206 passengers.

The French government on Sunday imposed new Covid-19 border restrictions as a means of curbing the spread of Covid-19, particularly the fast-spreading variants, whilst avoiding a nationwide lockdown which would further impact the economy. The French PM announced that from yesterday “any entry into France and any exit from our territory to or from a country outside the European Union will be prohibited”, apart from for exceptional reasons, and excluding non-risk countries like Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan, Singpore and Thailand.
Air France has been Certified with the COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating by international air transport rating agency Skytrax. “It is anticipated that with some further COVID-19 safety improvements to be made in early 2021, Air France could be one of the first airlines globally to achieve a 5-Star COVID-19 Airline Safety Rating,” said Skytrax.
