Following hot – and colourfully – on the heels of Port Elizabeth, Cape Town and Johannesburg, Pretoria is getting amped for its bold and beautiful ‘Color Run’ tomorrow morning.

The 5km race – which has become legendary around the world – has been embraced and enjoyed by thousands in South Africa. The untimed event features participants being doused from head to toe in different colours at each kilometre.
There are only two rules: wear white at the starting line…
and finish plastered in colour!
Over 9,500 Color Runners participated in the Johannesburg leg which resulted in a twitter trend.
Local licence holder’s Sportsvendo CEO Leon Swanepoel attributes the success to remaining true to the worldwide ethos of the brand – “The Color Run is about being healthy, being happy, self-expression, and giving back.”
R10 from each ticket is donated to charity. Swanepoel says the Joburg event raised more than R73,000 for Adopt-A-School.
If you’re going to the Pretoria event, look out for the giant tackie! Organisers say Pretoria’s event will be done in the “true spirit of Ubuntu” and “Color Runners can expect nothing like ever before, with this year’s run including timed glitter blasts – ensuring Pretoria shines!”
