FIVE THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT WHITE LIES SERIES
- The series is set in the wealthy suburb of Bishopscourt in Cape Town.
- Each episode is 52 minutes long, and there are eight episodes.
- According to the story synopsis by M-Net – Edie Hansen is stunned by the murder of her estranged brother in a home invasion, and is pulled into the nightmarish aftermath, united with her orphaned niece and nephew, just as the two become prime suspects in the murder. She quickly finds herself at loggerheads with Detective Forty Bell, a damaged 20-year veteran of the force, fighting his own demons an battling an incompetent and crumbling police force.
- Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer plays the role of Edie Hansen in the series.
- Dormer spoke to three investigative journalists to prepare for her role – Mandy Weiner, Susan Comrie and Holly Watt. She explained: “I spent over an hour with each of them individually and it was absolutely fascinating to get to know the temperament required to do the job, the personality type, the determination, the compulsion to find the truth and to believe in something. It was an absolute revelation to me.”
