WATCH Concert of Gratitude for South Africa’s Healthcare Workers, by Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra

The Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra is paying tribute and saying thanks to doctors, nurses and other healthcare workers across South Africa in the most beautiful manner – performing a concert right outside Groote Schuur Hospital, which has been at the heart of the Covid-19 pandemic in the Western Cape.

The hour-long lunch time concert is live right now – watch the live stream below. It began at 12h15 (Wednesday 15 September).

Healthworkers, staff and patients have gathered outside to watch and appreciate the stunning gesture.

Cape Town news photographer Esa Alexander explained the Outdoor Concert of Gratitude is being hosted by the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra “for frontline healthcare workers nationally to show recognition and appreciation for the work that they are doing”.
