The Global Production Awards, now in its second year has shortlisted a number of South African production companies and initiatives.
South Africa’s Gambit Films has received two nominations for the Diversity & Inclusion Award. One for its series Blood & Water and the other for Unseen. In the same category, South African producer, writer and actor Zoe Ramushu has been nominated for Wrapped, a crew diversity app she created.
Outstanding Use of Locations is another area that South Africa has been nominated for. This time it’s Homebrew Films for its Showmax Original, Wyfie.
Homebrew Films is also up for a Sustainability Initiative Award with Atlantic Studios for Greenset.
The awards ceremony, presented by Screen International, takes place on 20 May in Cannes, France, during the Cannes Film Festival.
